From north to south, east to west, 24 provincial halls faced protests by anti-government demonstrators on Wednesday after a call by Suthep Thaugsuban to defy the Yingluck administration.
The protesters occupied the compound of the main provincial offices in all 14 southern provinces, three in the North, two in the West, two in the East, and three in the Northeast. In some provinces many said they will not retreat until they receive a signal from Mr Suthep.
Songkhla governor Grisada Boonrach even boarded a convoy which led a rally of anti-government demonstrators to his own provincial hall in a show of protest against the government.
Mr Grisada is the first senior state official to come out and lead state officials and residents in joining the Civil Movement for Democracy led by the ex-Democrat Party MP for Surat Thani.
Upon arrival at the Songkhla provincial hall, Mr Grisada told police on duty to leave and do their jobs elsewhere, saying that as governor he would provide safety for the people.

Three protesters injured in clash with red shirts in Pathum Thani
Three anti-government protesters were injured in Pathum Thani Thursday when their group was confronted by local red-shirt people, leading to a clash.
The group of 100 protesters was marching to rally at the Pathum Thani City Hall at 2:30 pm when some 300 protesters rushed to them in an apparent intimidating manner.
Initially, some 300 policemen at the scene managed to prevent the red shirts from attacking the protesters. But after two sides dispersed in small groups, a group of protesters was attacked by another group of red shirts, causing three protesters to be injured. http://www.nation...20819.html
