A large influx of both local and foreign tourists have been travelling to Phang Nga, Thailand before its seasonal five-month closure begins on May 16.The annual closure aims to prevent tourists from being harmed during the monsoon season, in addition to allowing nature to restore itself.
There are other islets in the vicinity which are affected by the five-month closure which lasts until mid-October.
According to a senior wildlife official, regular patrols will be conducted in the waters of all the islands to prevent people from fishing illegally throughout the closure period.
