Inside Bangkok’s abandoned ‘ghost tower’ the Sathorn Unique
What a view from the rooftop.
THERE were once high hopes for the Sathorn Unique building, which was destined to become one of the glitziest addresses in Bangkok.
During Thailand’s economic boom in the 1990s, it became a towering addition to the city’s skyline. But in 1997, the Asian financial crisis left no money to complete to building.
Today, the eerie, unfinished 49-storey “ghost tower” is a very different kind of attraction.
While entering the building is forbidden, some have managed to venture inside.
Even just viewing it from afar is a creepy experience.
The grey tower stands empty and desolate, with incomplete upper levels.
Locals are convinced the building is haunted, and just from looking at the pictures below you can understand why.
