Mr Paiboon said Phra Dhammajayo claimed he had encountered the spirit of a man, Chatchai Rojkiratikan, in heaven. The spirit asked the abbot to tell his children they should make merit and leave donations for him, Mr Paiboon said.
It was found later Mr Chatchai was still alive,
The monk also claimed he met Apple's late co-founder Steve Jobs in heaven,

Ong-art Thamnitha, who represents Dhammakaya's disciples, said authorities have treated the temple and its former abbot unfairly, and there are signs violence will break out between state authorities and the institution of Buddhism.

Temple spokesman urges police to withdraw complaint
ONGART THAMNITA, the spokesman for followers of Dhammakaya Temple, yesterday urged the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to withdraw its police complaint against him and other temple adherents rather than “impose fear upon people”.
In the announcement via Facebook Live, Ongart said he had not intended to make public statements that incited disaffection in a manner likely to cause a disturbance, as specified by Section 116. He added that he was ready to prove his innocence in the judicial process.
Ongart said his statement on Sunday, which precipitated the DSI complaint, simply conveyed facts to the media and stated principles to enable authorities to understand how temple supporters thought and felt so they could resolve the problem peacefully.

Assault on Dhammakaya temple 'imminent'
Police, DSI plan pre-dawn temple raid
Soldier and police set up around the temple compound in Pathum Thani. Early Thursday, they closed off temple entrances and turned away all arriving vehicles. (Post Today photo)
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha took effective control of Wat Phra Dhammakaya with an overnight Section 44 decree - opening the temple to immediate assault.
Just before dawn, soldiers and police surrounded the temple compound in Pathum Thani province, in apparent preparation for a raid.
The three-page Section 44 order (text of key section below) signed by Gen Prayut authorises virtually any police or military action against Wat Phra Dhammakaya.
It said that Article 44 of the interim constitution was being used to impose control on the monastery because it had resisted law enforcement efforts.
"This calls for some measures to be put in place in order to control the area temporarily for effective law enforcement and peace in the country", said the document published in the Royal Gazette.
The founder of the Dhammakaya religious sect, who calls himself Phra Dhammajayo, is believed to be hiding inside the temple. He is wanted on several outstanding warrants for charges including embezzlement, money laundering and land encroachment by the temple and its other businesses in the provinces.
The order followed a meeting on Wednesday of Provincial Police Region 1 and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) held a closed-door meeting to plan a fresh raid on the temple as early as early Thursday, a police source says.
The raid may also involve military troops although the army initially said they had absolutely no idea such an operation was taking place.

A 58-year-old woman was injured when she fell and was stepped on during a tussle between Dhammakaya Temple monks and police Monday morning.
At 8:20 am, monks were seen aggressively advancing toward lines of police and officials from the Department of Special Investigation blocking a small road that leads to Gate 5 and 6.
The monks apparently tried to pressure the officials to leave the road and stop the blockage so that more laymen followers of the temple could join those inside the compound in a prolonged battle to prevent officials from continuing the search for elusive former abbot Phra Dhammachayo.
The woman was caught in the middle of the pushing by both sides. She fell and was later rescued by rescuers of a foundation. She was rushed to a hospital.
At the press time, the woman could still give her account to officials at the hospital.

Police clash with Dhammakaya monksMonks and police faced off on Monday at Wat Phra Dhammakaya monastery where security forces are trying to arrest an influential former abbot on money-laundering charges.
Police said they would try to avoid violence while threatening arrest for followers of the sprawling temple who have defied orders to leave and instead flocked there, hampering the search for 72-year-old Phra Dhammachayo.
With tension rising four days after the military government ordered emergency powers to be used in the search, monks and police pushed and shoved at one of the temple gates.

Dhammajayo stripped of monastic rank
Phra Dhammajayo: Stripped of monastic titles, but he remains a monk.
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has stripped the monastic rank of Phra Dhammajayo, the 'Royal Gazette' said on Sunday.
The symbolic step of removing the monastic rank came after he refused to appear to answer legal charges, following a two-week siege by thousands of military and police personnel.
The Royal Gazette article said His Majesty had agreed to the government's request to demote Phra Dhammajayo because he had fled from the charges against him.
"Thus he does not deserve to hold his monastic rank any longer," the document said.
The move has not defrocked the founder of the Dhammakaya sect. Only the Supreme Sangha Council can take that step. But he no longer has or can use the title Phra Thepyan Mahamuni Sri Dhamma Kosol.
The Dhammakaya temple declined to comment on the measure.
